Every Single Time

There is a moment
when everything changes,
a traceable moment
for almost every event.

It is the moment when
the first leaf breaks free
and sails to the grass,
jump starting autumn.

It is the moment when
the first bright green
blade of grass pops up
through the melting snow,
pulling spring from the roots.

It is the first snowflake,
cascading to the ground
on winter's first chilly morning.

It is there,
you only have to go looking,
through the pages of memory,
and you'll see it.
